Mid Wales Strategic Intent

The Welsh Government’s long-term plan for the future of health and social care in Wales, ‘A Healthier Wales: Our Plan for Health and Social Care’, sets out the long term future vision of a ‘whole system approach to health and social care’ which focuses on health and wellbeing, and on preventing illness.

The Mid Wales Joint Committee, as a formally designated regional planning area within Wales, supports this direction of travel.  Our Strategic Intent sets out how the Joint Committee intends to ensure there is a joined up approach to the planning and delivery of health and care services across Mid Wales.

It outlines how the Joint Committee’s partner organisations will work together to address the current health and care needs of the Mid Wales population as well as the challenges for the future.  It also explains the overarching aims and objectives and describes what the Joint Committee intends to do and achieve across Mid Wales.

OUR VISION -

‘The population of Mid Wales is provided with equitable access to safe, sustainable and high quality integrated health and care services

There are three sub-groups that sit underneath the Joint Committee as follows:

Mid Wales Planning and Delivery Executive Group - To lead the detailed development of the Joint Committee plan and its delivery.

Mid Wales Clinical Advisory Group - To advise on specific clinical models of care, taking a leadership role in detailed design where appropriate.

* Oversee the establishment and review of the RHCW governance structure.

* Co-ordinate engagement and consultation with relevant stakeholders.
